Thank you all for the sweet comment about breast feeding.

I am still pumping every 3-4 hours. I spoke to my lactation specialist again and she is going to come out tomorrow. I have been putting Jackson on my breast a few times a day. He is doing better with sucking but he will not "suck" for a whole feeding.

We also took him to the pediatrician on Friday for another weight check. Boy has he gained weight! He weighs 8 pounds 8 ounces. So supplementing and giving him breast milk is working!! We also found out he has thrush (poor baby). This (might) be the reason he doesn't want to suck from my breast. We are treating it now so hopefully the treatment will work!!

Keep praying for us. We are still working at it!

Ive blogged a lot about this and I think this is my last post about it. I'm blogging it so I remember. I know there are some very strong opinions about breastfeeding. Please if you do not have anything nice to say then do not say anything at all. I've tried my hardest and that's all that matters.

First I have to say breastfeeding is so hard! I tried with Maddie but this time it has been much harder! Maybe its because I was determined I would do it? I tried from the minute he was born to only breast feed, but his blood sugar dropped really low and we had to give him some formula. We had do this throughout day 1 and 2. His well being was more important then me exclusively breastfeeding.

Jackson has always latched well. Ive seen 2 lactation specialist and they said his latch is great, but the problem is he does not like to suck from my breast. I do not know if he is lazy or what.

At 1 week Jackson went from weighing 7 pounds 15 oz to 7 pounds 4 oz so we had to supplement. Once again his health is way more important then me exclusively breastfeeding. So we usually breastfeed then give him a pumped bottle or formula. I am only pump 1-2 oz so we do not keep pumped bottles long around here.

I can not take fenugreek or mothers milk because Im on blood thinners (until 6 weeks pp). I was never told this and I was actually about to start taking it when I looked it up online and its a BIG no no. Ive tried drinking tons of water, skin to skin, and tons of pumping. Jackson's pediatrician thinks I just don't have many milk ducts. She is so supportive of me trying and keeps telling me I'm doing great. Which is a great help.

So here we are week 3 and I'm still struggling. I am just pumping now every 3-4 hours. Ive tried to put him on my breast this week but he still wont suck. It frustrates him and me so we have stopped for a few days. I know a lot of women will say this is not good, but its not worth him being so frustrated. 

I hope to make it to 6 weeks so I can start the fenugreek but if  I dont make it that far I know I tried my best. He has had 3 weeks of breastmilk and that is 3 weeks longer then Maddie had it.
