Here we go..

Well, it looks like Jackson is going to be getting braces for his legs.

After much debate, going back and forth, we decided it's time to get Jackson braces. We have given him months to gain the strength he needs. Now that he is pulling up we need to make sure his ankles and feet will be positioned correctly while standing/walking.

Without the braces both of his little ankles roll in. If we do not fix this now they will always roll in and this would be a major problem. When he pulls up he also turns both feet to the side. Pt tells us if we do not correct that problem his feet will misform and it could cause leg deformities.

I have a feeling he is going to hate these. He doesn't like anything to touch his feet so these may be an issue, but I really hope not! They are going to take some time to be made and fitted so I guess only time will tell.

I am feeling ok about this. I knew from my mommy instinct that he was going to need them. We really wont know how long he will need them until we get them on him and he starts walking.

So, the journey begins (again)... Now Jackson will have special legs.

A little poem

Ya'll he's growing up to fast. Everyday I look at him and think he's getting so big. I want him to stay this age forever. I found this poem and I fell in love with it! It's just perfect!!!

I'm headed back....

I'm excited to say I'm headed back to work next school year!

I am going to be teaching pre-k at a church and Jackson will be in Mother's Day Out. I am so excited, but it was a very tough decision.

I love being at home with Jackson, but I think this is going to be really good for Jackson and I. It is going to be great for him to get the social interacts with other child and I will be right there. As in right there I mean there are only 6 classrooms at the school. Don't get my wrong I am still VERY nervous to leave him but I think we both need this. I will be teaching 3 days a week and I think that is perfect.

I am SO excited to be able to teach all the fun stuff...do experiments, talk about God, crafts, cook, sing and play! I can't tell you how excited I am!

So, now I need help...Where is the best place to get nap mats? I already have his lunch kit picked out :)

Hellllllllooooooo Naptime!

I better not say this to loud or he will hear me..

But.......

Jackson has been napping longer and longer and longer and longer and longer each day (I really want to type and longer again!)

Maybe he's finally getting it?

Nap time is for SLEEPING and for Mommy to recharge her batteries....right?????

I'm talking he was sleeping 10-15 minutes now hes sleeping 45min to an hour!! Mom's you know this is MAJOR!

I never ever understood how moms "got things done" during nap time. I mean what can you really do in 15 minutes. You can't even enjoy a shower..right. But helllllllllo 45minutes! I can eat lunch, relax and even drink my coffee without re-heating it!

Wow, I love you naptime please stay. I NEEEEEEED you!

More shoe talk

I had a lot of questions about why I want Jackson in shoes.

Well... his PT really wants him in leg braces and his pediatrician wants us to wait. So, his PT suggested putting him in high tops to get him some extra support until we decide to do braces or not.

This has been a huge debate for a while. The pediatrician says that braces will help Jackson now but in the long run it may hurt him. The braces will help him stand but he wouldn't of built the strength he needed. So, James and I decided to work hard with him at PT and at home to build the strength he needs and see how he is doing at 15 months then decide if he needs braces.

As of right now Jackson is doing great without them. It has been a very long, and slow road but Jackson is gaining strength in his legs. I do not think he is going to need braces but we will see in a few months!

Shoes

I always thought Jackson had small feet but I never realized his were this small!

I need to find him some high tops with great support (not like the converse even tho I think those are cute). The problem is his feet are so tiny I can't find any (size 2-3). So, does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to pay and arm and a leg if I don't have to.

13 months

Jackson,
   Your 13 month mark just slipped right past me! You are 13 months old. WOW. Time has REALLY flown by fast!!!

You are such a long tall boy! Everyone asks me how old you are and when I tell them they just can't believe you are only a year old!

This month I have been putting your shoes on you every day. I think it's really helping you! It's hard on mommy tho. You curl up those toes and its super hard for me to get them on! You have the smallest feet! You wear a size 2 shoe. I cant find a shoes that has good support in a size 2 so you are wearing a size 3. I just love your cute little fat feet!!!

Last week you started pulling up to your feet on your own!!!! Daddy and I were SO excited to see you standing. You are not very consistent with this. Sometimes you will do it sometimes you won't. When I took you yo PT last week you wouldn't do it. I am sure your PT thought I was crazy and just making it up but I wasn't you are doing GREAT! Your favorite place to stand is in the bathtub which is not the safest place to stand silly!

You are wearing size 4 diapers and 18-24 month clothes. Your pj's are 24 months and the shirts are getting to short! You weigh around 25 pounds.

You are a champ at eating. You will pretty much eat anything. I haven't found anything you really don't like! Last night you were eating asparagus!! You LOVE milk and water.

Here is your schedule:
You wake up around 6:30
Snack around 10
You usually take a short very very very short nap around 10:30 for about 15-20 minutes.
Lunch around 11:30-12:00
Sometimes another nap around 2:30 around 15 minutes
Snack around 3
Dinner around 6:00
Bath
Bed time routines starts at 7:45
In bed by 8:00

You are doing a lot better with your night time routine. That doesn't mean you love going to bed but you are doing better! Last night you didn't even cry! 


You love playing with Bella. She is so good with you. You love to share your snacks with her. Sometimes that really grosses me out buddy!

You play great all by your self but you love mommy to hold you.

You love doors, trains, Bella, Scout, and bath time. Your favorite toy is a ball and you can throw it far! You LOVE playing ball with daddy and Bella.

Everyone says you are such a good baby. I love spending my days with you!

You are in need of a second haircut bad!!!! You have great hair just like daddy!

YAY!!!!

I want to shout hooray as loud as I can....

Yesterday Jackson pulled up to standing! He did it over and over and over again!!!

We are SO proud of him!!!!!!!!

We have been working SO hard at PT and at home to get him to do this on his own.

This is a MAJOR goal like...BIG TIME!

Today I turned around and he had pulled himself up on his toy box and he was standing just a digging in it!

I can't wait to go to PT tomorrow and them what he has done! I am one proud mamma!!!!!!!

GO Jack GO!!!
