16 months ( a little late)

Jackson,

   You are 16 months old!

You are such a big boy now, Jackson. You are trying to walk. You really, really, really want to, and you are cruising good on your walker. You have even started to stand. This may not seem like a big deal, but it is for you! You have not been able to stand on your own until now. You can do it for a few seconds.

You love to eat but you are starting to get picky! I am not sure where this came from but I hope it doesn't last long.

You wear size 5 diapers and 18-24 month clothes. I think you weight around 27 pounds.

I thought you were starting to like school. You have not been crying as much, until last Thursday you cried a lot! You are also picking up bad habits from school like screaming at the top of your lungs if you do not get what you want when you want it. You also learned the famous "no, no, no, no".

You love, love, love your mommy. You always reach for me when anyone is holding you.  I love my mamma's boy!

You are so much fun to be around. I just love this age. You are learning so fast!

Daddy taught you how to "shake, shake, shake" your toys and you love to say it!

You have picked up a few new words: shake, no, and up. We are working on using your words not screaming.

You still love your wagon. We try to take you on a wagon walk every afternoon. It's finally starting to not be SO hot to where we can actually do that!

You are starting to be more adventurous.  You will go into your playroom and play all by yourself for a little while. You don't know it but mommy is checking on you often.

You love going over to visit Mimi. You love her "ish" (dog) and her kitty kitty.

Jackson you will never know how much I love you. You are such a blessing.

XOXO,
Mommy

MDO update

Jackson is doing MUCH better at Mother's Day Out. He is not crying when I drop him off any more! His teachers told me he only cries a little bit during the day. This is awesome! I am so proud of him! I know MDO is helping him socially, and to become more independent......but.......it's also giving him the crud!

Yesterday Jackson was happy and playing, within an hour or so he spiked a very high fever and hasn't felt good since. Please pray this blows over soon. I have a feeling we will be at the doctor tomorrow morning.

Have I mentioned I love this age? I LOVE how vocal Jackson is getting. Every new thing he does amazes me and him! I just LOVE it!!!

Guess what else???

He stood up on his own not holding onto anything for 30 seconds the other day!!!!!!!!!
This is a MAJOR accomplishment for him! He has NEVER done that before!!!! He is getting there. I have a feeling in a month or two he will be walking. Keep praying!!

It's coming

I can feel October 14th creeping up on me.

Yesterday morning I was getting dressed and boom. I started crying.

Maddie's birthday is soon...like less then a month away. She should be 3. I hate saying "should be". She is 3 in heaven, but she will always be a 4 month old to me. It's really hard to think of her as an almost 3 year old. My brain just can't and won't go there. I cant even imagine how she would look. I guess it's more like, I won't let myself think of what she does look like. I just miss her.

I thought her birthdays would get easier but in fact I think they are getting harder now that we have our sweet Jackson. Now I know what I am missing...the cake, the smiles, all the laughter....

I know we will still celebrate her but it will never be the same.

I miss you sweet Maddie. You will always be my first little love.

School

We made it!! Jackson and I started school last week. There were many, many, many tears shed by him and me, but we made it!

He is even napping at school! Can you believe it? He doesn't sleep long, but I didn't think he would go down at all!

I think MDO is going to be so good for him once he gets used to it. All the kids in his class are walking and it should really encourage him. I have already noticed he is getting around better and he has also picked up a few new words.

I LOVE my class! They are so such sweet kids and I am so excited I get to teach again. I never thought I would be able to take my baby to work with me. I feel very good about leaving him in his class. I know he is well taken care of and if I just need to see him I can walk across the hall and peak on him. What an amazing opportunity!

It is going to be a GREAT school year. I am so happy that stressful week is over now I can get back to blogging!
