Invitations!

I never knew that picking invitations would be SO stressful!!! I think finally James and I decided on one we really like. It lets us use the AWESOME engagement pictures that Clint took!!!

Tonight, after I e-mail the designer he is supposed to e-mail me back to final design and I will post it! :)

Yes, finally another thing marked off my list! :)

Pulled over, no lights and flooding!!!

So let me start from the beginning.. Monday morning I am driving to work minding my own business driving the speed limit.. I come to a stop sign in the middle on no where (behind some apartments with NO cars around) and I get pulled over for not stopping all the way.. UGG seriously.. The officer was very nice.. He asked me if I had a ticket in a while and I said no ... not in a long time and he let me go..Thank GOD.. My lucky day right?? Well I go on to school and everything is fine..The day went fast and all is well..
Today I had to leave school early to go to the dentist to get my crown on and also to get screwed by my stupid dental insurance.. but that's a different story.. I hear on the news that there is going to be some bad rain that afternoon.. So I tell Catherine it may be raining and she may have to do rainy day load with both our classes..(thanks again Catherine for taking my kids to the buses).
So I head to the dentist.... I'm driving and talking to my dad on the phone.. Not thinking I passed up my exit..I take the next exit and turn right thinking it would take to the right street I was supposed to be on..Well boy was I wrong!!!! I ended up getting VERY lost in a not so great part of town.. I am pulling out my phone to call my dad and I see 290... 290 and FAIRBANKS! I am almost to where I started from.. Insted of calling my dad I call the dentist and tell them I am going to be a few minutes late.. and I thought it was going to be my lucky day!!!
So, I finally make it to the dentist I get my crown and I'm out of there in 15!! Yes, hes good! As soon as I step out of his office, heaven opens and it is POURING!!! I run to my car and I am drenched!!!! The dentist told me I could not eat anything for an hour.. Which I was STARVING.. All I had for lunch was a little kid size piece of pizza... I call James and tell him we are under a tornado watch and to hurry home..
I decided I was going to run by Darque Tan really quick and tan.. Walking in (no running in...its still pouring!!) I am nervous.. I'm so scared the lights are going to go out.. Well they didnt.. But... They got new level 2 beds...Me thinking oh they are new beds I should only tan 13 min. insted of 15..WRONG idea.. I tanned 13 min and well I wasted my time.. It was not long enough at all. I dont like the new level 2 beds... So I drive home as quick as I can..which isn't fast because its raining so hard...
Finally, I get home and start cooking dinner because I am STARVING!!! I made homemade spaghetti..everything was ready I was just waiting for James to get home so we could eat.. I am sitting in the computer room and the power starts flickering (7 times actually)...On the 8th time.. IT GOES OUT!!!!!!!! Which is really scary.. It reminded me of the hurricane not so long ago.. I call Catherine to see if her power is out- NO.. I call my mom to see if hers is out- NO... I call Lauren- YES!!!...Seriously can this day get any worse??? James finally makes it home...He sat in traffic for an hour and a half.. WE eat dinner in the dark..Luckily my stove is gas :).... After dinner James and I read some books in candle light for about an hour... At this point its getting very dark out side.. James and I look at each other and say "lets go".. I run and shower in the DARK!... put my lotion on..pack a small bag.. We are walking to our front door and the power comes back on.. OH YES!!!! Finally so about 2 hours with no power was GREAT.. Then we hung out and watched some TV.. I go to bed.. I didnt sleep very well last night because the thunder was so loud!! I knew it was pouring.. I kept thinking to my self.. We are going to float away..and there is no way we are going to be able to get to Jersey Village tomorrow.. Finally at about 5:45 I get up... I tried to turn on the TV to watch the new and it DOESNT WORK!!!!!!! Annoying... So, I call my mom... I ask her "do we have school"..She said the news said nothing about school being closed today...Mom tells me she has water up to her pourch!! Seriously and they want me to drive to school..um NO... I tell her to call me if they cancel it...Not even 3 min later she calls and school is canceled!!!! YES!!!... Or should I say NO!!!!! We are going to have to make it up I just know it.. Well the good little wife that I am .. I decided to make these bad boys!

They dont look like it but...they are Cinnamon rolls.. and they are GOOD... If you have an extra 3 hours..YOU NEED TO MAKE THEM!!!!! It takes so long because you have to make the dough and let it rise...but they are yummo!! So, now its about 9:30 and I'm ready for a NAP!!!
I really needed this day off to do wedding stuff.. and take a nice log nap!! :)

To sauter or not to sauter

I have looked EVERYWHERE to find a wedding band to match my ring and well there isn't one that will match.. Finally I decided I was going to get a ring that matched exactly or one that did not match at all.. Well in the long run I didn't do either.. I ended up finding a band that matches pretty well but I wanted 2 bands! Oh yes, I am very difficult I know!!! A few weekends ago I talked James into going and buying them beacuse honestly I am tired of looking for wedding bands! Today I picked up the 2nd one from being sized.. I am wearing them today (just around the house) to see if I want to sauter them all together or not..I am leaning towards not ..... I havent decided yet but here they are..

Its becoming real...

Today I saw my bridal shower invitations for my shower at school.. And let me say they are FABULOUS!! Catherine did an AWSOME job..The funny thing is they are made on the same paper I sent out all the save the date magnets on..Great minds think alike..When I get home from work I will post a pic of them.. They are AWESOME!

Also, today I was getting stuff ready for next year..Yes we still have 28 more days of school and we just started the 6th six weeks but I'm a planner.. I like to have every thing done so I have NOTHING left to worry about.. Well anyways back to the point.. I was getting stuff ready for next year and I have a parent letter I sent out at the beginning of the school year.. At the bottom is said Sincerly, Ms. Grein.. I had to re type the letter and sign my new name K Staats.. It was WEIRD, but really neat at the same time... I think it may be very weird hearing my new name next year, but it'll be great! I am EXCITED!!!!! But.. On a sad note.. I am really going to miss Catherine next year.. I'm sad just thinking about it!

In other news: Lauren hates her engagement pic. so we may go play around with my camera more and go try to take them some better engagement pics!! I wonder where a good place to go is?

Also, Mrs. B really wants me to start my "Kellie's Lunch" idea... I wanted to make homemade lunches for teachers... So they don't have to eat nasty school food.. She said she would buy one.. I don't know if my cooking is that good or she is just being nice... I don't even know how much to sell them for.. I dunno just another idea..

Tomorrow is FRIDAY yay..

2 months and randomness...

Ekkk..Less then 3 months until our wedding.. I am feeling very good about everything.. I just can not wait until school is over then I can get all little details taken care of!!!

Catherine, my teaching partner, put in her resignation the other day and I'm so SAD!!! I am going to miss her so much, but she is staying home with baby Colton! That's what I have always wanted to do after I have kids so I am SO excited for her!!

This has been one of my favorite songs since it came out.. we are going to play it at the reception-its a must!!! Enjoy :)

New Layout and The gym

Today James drug me to the gym.. with MUCH hesitation... I WENT!

When we got there it was drizzling.. After 30 minutes of cardio (on the elliptical).. and an hour and 1/2 of lifting weight we decided we were going to leave..Well we didn't know it but the while we were in the gym the bottom fell out (it was POURING!!)... My lovely husband to be ran to the car and got drenched for me...Then we took the quick ride over to darque tan.. We were standing in line waiting to be helped and the lights go out.. I look at James and we both say, "were leaving"..Can you imagine laying in the tanning bed and the lights go out.. Talk about SCARY!!! James and I left and drove over to Newk's we ran across the parking lot (got soaked again) and ordered food.. By this time I was sweaty and soaking wet.. I bet I looked cute!!! We got our food and left.. So I sit here tonight VERY sore and tired.. We didn't do much else today because of the nice storm we had.. It was a relaxing Saturday :).. Tomorrow I am going to the bridal symposium with my mom and Lauren.. this time I WILL NOT forget my camera!

Oh yeah.. On Friday Catherine and I were doing rainy day load...Yes, it was raining Friday also.. Catherine had taken a set of kids to the buses and a child of hers out of no where said ,"Ms. Grein...You know I hate when birds poop on your car... They just fly by and go poop poop poop..Its really annoying"... I couldn't do anything but laugh!!! All of the kids started to tell me about how they hate when birds poop on cars.. So I HAD to tell them about the one time a bird pooped on my mom head at the mall.. The kids thought that was SO funny.. They HAD to go over to her room and tell her I told them..they laughed for a good 5 minutes.. Oh what fun rainy day load brings!

More accomplishment!!

Today I finished writing ALL of my lesson plans for the rest of the year.. I feel very accomplished and relived! Now all I have to do is sit back and count the days till its over... 33 more in fact! I am really excited that next year I will no longer be Ms. Grein... I will be Mrs. Staats! I wonder how bad my kids next year will butcher my new name. He He

Wednesday!

Nothing much to blog about.. Its Wednesday.. Catherine and I are trying to get lesson plans done.. I am actually working on lesson plans for the rest of the year.. I am SO ready for this year to be over!!! We can start packing up our boxes starting May.. How great is that.. Only 30 something more days to go.. Jessica I need your countdown!!!


Don (my step dad) got the hooks up for a limo on our wedding day.. We have it from 3pm to midnight.. Go DON! Thats kinda exciting..

This weekend Lauren my mom and I are going to the bridal symposium. This is going to be my last bridal show :(! We are going to check out the linen company I am going to use. Also, I want to go to see if I forgot anything on my long list of stuff to do! It should be fun.. Girls day!

I added some stuff to my Target registry.. The big day is coming.. Its going to be here fast!

3 months and 4 days!

Wow.. The count down is on.. In just a few more days we will be down to 2 months until the wedding!! Time is flying by!

Today I got a crazy e-mail... I forgot that at 3 months we owe another payment on the reception site.. Yes, a VERY big payment at that! We have 4 days to pay it..Thank God for my dad and credit cards!

Just waiting for Clint to post our engagment pics.. As soon as they are posted I will link it!! I am SOOOO excited!

Thanks to my brother we fixed Catherins pic! I hope to take many more pic of him! It was a BLAST!!

Accomplishment! (Is that a word?)

Today James and I got a lot of things accomplished. We started the day off with running to the mall and buying my wedding bands (Yes, Catherine I did say bands! :0). James has still not decided on what band he wants.
We also return a pair of Jeans I bought. We left the mall and headed over to Bed Bath and Beyond and the fun began - WE REGISTERED!!! It was a lot of fun!!! I love love love love love to cook so I was VERY excited to register for some new kitchen stuff. I was most excited to register for this BAD BOY...A Kitchen Air MIXER!
I am also VERY excited to register for this:
An ice cream attachment for that AWESOME mixer!!!! Yes, homemade ICE CREAM..Oh man I am going to gain 10 pounds! I have always wanted that mixer for as long as I can remember. My grandmother promised me that she would buy it when I got married.. so GRANDMA its TIME! :)

After 2 hours in Bed Bath and Beyond James was VERY ready to leave... I promised him ice cream if we could go to Target and register there to. So we ran by Sonic and grabbed an ice cream and then went to Target to register... We registered for a few things there and then came home.. I am going to look on line and add some more stuff to that registry.

Tonight was also DATE NIGHT!!! James and I used out FREE Studio Movie Grill passes and went to see the movie "Knowing". I thought it was going to be a great movie but it ended up being way to sci-fi for me. The movie theater was freezing... I took my hoodie beacsue I get cold easy and I was FREEZING!! Also, the movie was so loud I should of brought my ear plugs.. HA Ha... We had an awesome date and a perfect Saturday!

Oh.. I guess it was two weekends ago.. James and I went to the Rockets game.. Wow.. that was a crazy day.. We ended up going on Latino night...All of the announcements were in SPANISH!!!! I do not know a LICK of Spanish or anything about basketball so...James had to tell me everything that was going on... It was really fun night!
