Yesterday, Thursday February 17th my whole life as I knew it changed. The secretory from our school told me James was on the phone and I knew something was wrong because he NEVER calls the school. As soon as I picked up the phone I heard his sad voice. He told me that Maddie had stopped breathing and the babysitter called 911 and she was going to the hospital. I admittedly ran to my moms classroom and said Maddie stopped breathing she is going to the hospital. I started to grab my stuff and told my mom I couldn't drive myself, so she drove me. We raced to the hospital. When we got there I knew it was bad. The security guard at the front told us to wait for an officer to escort us back. After what seemed like forever the officer told us we can come back. They started to walk around the corner and said no never mind this way and started to open a door. When they started to open the door, I knew she was gone. I started screaming "NO".We sat down on the couch and they told us they did everything they could but she was gone. James wasn't there yet it was just my mom and I. He got there a few seconds later. I was in such shock I couldn't even cry. I just wanted to scream. A nurse told we could see her but it may take a few hours. I didnt care I just wanted to see my princess. Then 2 Sheriff officers came into the room and asked everyone to leave. Her death is being investigate by the homicide unit. They said its protocol. They interviewed us separate and together. The officers gave us the horrific new that we couldn't see her because it would contaminate the evidence. I was devastated. We were told to go home...but how do we go home without our baby girl??
Eventually we drove home. Through many many many tears but we made it. I didnt want to go in our house. Maddie's stuff is everywhere. James and I hand in hand walked inour house. I went straight to her room and we both fell to our knees and cried. How could this happen to us, Maddie was not sick and she was SO happy!!! Te officers had been at the babysitters house investigating and then he came to our house. He brought all of her stuff to us. I lost it. I couldn't see her empty car seat. She is supposed to be in it. This isnt fair!!!! James and I are trying to cope, but we really dont know what to do. We are going today to talk to the funeral home. BUT this isnt supposed to be happening. I am not supposed to get Maddie's death certificate before her birth certificate.
Thanks so much for all the prayers. We really appreciate them!

We do not know each other, but I wanted to say how very sorry I am for your loss. You and your family are in LOTS of people's prayers right now! I have been bawling my eyes out while reading your blog and I could not imagine such a tremendous loss. I think that reading something like this makes people cherish moments with their little ones even more if that's possible. I know I will.
Praying for you. The loss of a child is the worst kind of loss. It shatters your heart and soul. Im so sorry :'(
You do not know me, a mutual friend pointed me to your page. I am so sorry for your loss. I am praying hard for you and your family. Your little girl is absolutely beautiful and well loved. God bless you.
My sister told me about your situation with your beautiful daughter. Obviously condolences are never enough when you lose a beloved child, but all we can offer is prayers and support. We are so very sorry for your loss and hope that you and your husband stay strong through this terrible tragedy. With love in Christ,

I am truly sorry for the loss of your sweet princess. I heard your story and felt I needed to drop you a line. Reading your blog was like reliving may 28 2004 all over again. That is when I was greeted at work by a couple of police officers telling me something was wrong with my almost 4 month old son, Tyler Evan. He too stopped breathing! I understand the feelings you are having and please remember she is you and your families little guardian angel and she is dancing in heaven! It is so hard and I will admit I stiill get choked up looking at his pictures and thinking about him and wondering what he would look like at 7 years old! Again, im so sorry for you and your husband and
your entire family! I will keep you all in my thoughts and
prayers! Stay strong!
With deepest sympathy,
Casey
I ran across your blog from a post left on the Trixie Lou Coture Facebook page.
There are absolutely no words that I can even fathom to type to let you know how truly sorry I am that the two of you are having to go through this insane amount of pain. I don't know you, but I couldn't help but cry for you as I was reading all your blogs. I had to stop my daughter from running around the living room just so I could hug her extra tight and thank God for bringing her into our lives.
I will constantly be praying for you and asking that God give you the strength to push on every day. Your family will forever be in my heart!
Kelli, my name is Lee, I was a single mom from age 17 - 29, my only child, Angela, was hit and killed by a car on her way to school, she was 12 years old. This was Jan 14th '88. So I have had 23 years to deal with this loss and I have been through every stage of the grief process. I am now retired and sick so I am at home and on the computer almost all of the time. If you ever need to talk, day or night, you can email me or we can chat using Yahoo IM (use isosage@yahoo.com - my email address.
I KNOW what you are going through. You would be helping me pass the time and feel useful and productive if you were to reach out to me for support. I truly feel I can help you get through this horrible process. You NEVER get 'over it'. But as time passes, you learn to function, then slowly you learn to live again, rather than going through the motions like a robot. And finally you actually start to laugh again, then you feel guilty for being happy for that one second. That is the stage of grief that is not talked about and the one most people get stuck on - letting go, giving themselves permission to be happy they are alive and to stop feeling guilty.
Please let me try to help you through this tragedy.
Sincerely, Lee
New to your blog, my heart literally broke as I read the last few entries. Please know I am praying for peace and comfort for you all at this very difficult time.
I am so, so, so sorry for your loss. I don't have any words, but know that I'm praying for you.
I don't know you... But my heart just sank in tears for you. I cannot say I know how you feel but I can imagine the heartache and emptiness. I am holding you and your family in my prayers and I know you probably don't wont to hear that you can be comforted to know she is truly in the arms of Jesus right now because, well, I know you want her in yours. I do promise, you will be with her again one day.

A friend linked me to your blog. Maddie's pictures are simply beautiful. Prayers to you and your family.
The new blog is beautiful. I can't stop reading your blog..it seems like everywhere I turn, mothers are losing their babies, and I just want to make it better. This past November, my daughter lost her little friend and my friend lost her baby girl. It's heartbreaking and I want you to know I am sharing your story.
I love how your blog and your new photography business is a testament to Maddie. Thank you for your strength and faith, you are an inspiration.
Little I knew that morning
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of me went with you.
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing is the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
-I heard about your loss over on Stafford Stories and have since been reading your blog. I have prayed for you daily...I hope you find grace each day....

I am just beside my self with sorrow for you and your husband... My friend lost her gorgeous baby boy Owen at the age of 3 months... she had the angel care monitor.. But that fateful night when God called Owen home, for some reason...she did not turn on the movement part..
Your daughter was gorgeous, through and through. My heart is so sad today...for you. Your gorgeous baby girl, passed away on my 25th birthday, now looking back to that day, it makes me want to cry. Your in my thoughts and prayers, you and your husband. Heaven is real, and God exists.
My friend lost her baby boy Owen at 3 months of age, from SIDS. She had the angel care monitor, but for some devine reason unknown that night, she didnt turn the movement part on.. Fate some may say... God called Owen home that night, but forever left a spot in his mommys heart..
My heart is so sad right now, for you and your Husband. I hope God gives you the strength to get through this. Your strength today, tomorrow, and forever is an inspiration to us all... XOXO..
Hi Kellie, I have also lost a child and would very much like to connect with you. My blog is www.wadingintidepools.blogspot.com, or I can be reached through our CaringBridge page www.caringbridge.org/visit/coopaloop.
Finding a new normal is excruciating at times and it can be equally hard to find other parents who get it. I appreciate the honesty with which you post, good days and bad, and love that you are keeping Maddie's legacy alive through your beautiful photography.

There is nothing I can say that will take your pain away. But I want you to know that I understand your pain and greatly appreciate your blog. My son Gavin passed away exactly a month from today, he was only 3 1/2 months old. My heart is just in pieces and feels like it keeps breaking more and more everyday. My faith and family and friends are really the only thing that get me out of bed in the morning. I have been praying for you and your family and if you ever need to talk please feel free to email me. kvasquez@mevpro.com . Your blog has inspired to to write about what is going on and I hope to start a blog as well. God Bless you and your family. Maddie and Gavin are playing together in Heaven.
I am so sorry. There are no words. my condolences go out to you and your family as you continue to heal.
My son was born on Jul 28 2010 and I lost him on Dec 28th 2010...I found him in his crib that morning and he was gone. I was told about your blog from a mommy on WTE. Just wanted to see if maybe you wanted to talk? My son passed from a rare metabolic disorder and I get autopsy results July 6th finally. Not to mention before all this my fiance left me for someone else after 8 years together. Wedding partially planned and planned baby) I am doing this alone...it's so hard. Your story made me cry :(

Hi Kellie. I just recently saw your blog and felt the urge to comment and saw how sorry I am for your loss. I cannot imagine your pain and it breaks my heart. I just had to comment because when I read your story I noticed you lost your daughter exactly 1 day after I lost my son Liam 18 weeks into pregnancy (2/16/11). I am also pregnant with baby #2 as well. It was just too uncanny for me to pass up. Good luck to you.
Jessica
